Moto C2 to be the first Android Go smartphone by Motorola

Motorola has been quite aggressive in launching smartphones back to back in recent times. Be it their Moto Z3 Play or there new G6 and budget E5 series launched this year. And now, as per the latest rumours, the company is planning to launch few new smartphones in its entry-level budget C series.
The new contenders will be called as the Moto C2 and the Moto C2 Plus which appeared online a few months back in the form of renders. Maintaining the legacy of C series, the Moto C2 will be the most affordable smartphone from Motorola for 2018. Earlier, Moto launched their Moto X4 under the Android One program (not in India) and there are rumours about Motorola One Power to be the next Android One smartphone from Motorola.

After two months of initially leaked renders, the Moto C2 recently got certification from FCC with model number XT1920. However, despite rumours, nothing is officially confirmed by the company.

Coming to the specifications, the Moto C2 is expected to sport a 5 or 5.2-inch display with old 16:9 ratio and will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. It measures 147.88 mm in length and 71.22 mm in case of width. The device might come with a 2000 / 2100mAH battery. Nothing else is known as far as specifications are concerned but keeping the fact that it will be powered by Android Go Edition, a mediocre combination of 1GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal storage is what we can expect.

As per previous leaks, The device will not be having any sort of fingerprint sensor unlike the C2 plus, else it will rely on Face Unlock. It will sport polycarbonate shell and quite thick bezels. Both the Moto C2 and C2 plus will feature a single rear camera at the back in addition to dual tone dual LED flash in addition to a flash at the front as well. As far as the listing goes, the device is expected to be sold in Asian, European, and American markets.
